WHAT WE BELIEVE
OUR PRINICPLES OF FAITH
5 CORE BELIEFS
-
The Bible is the Word of God
God's Word is the only completely, reliable, and truthful authority and we accept it as our first line of authority in our principles of daily living
-
Jesus Christ is the Son of God
He was sent from God the Father, lived a sinless life, voluntarily paid the price for our sin by dying on the cross in our place, was buried, and rose from the dead giving us new life. Salvation is a gift of God's grace received by putting faith in this finished work
-
You Must Be Born Again of God
God created man to have fellowship with Him. Man broke that fellowship through selfish disobedience. Jesus restored that relationship through sacrificial obedience. This act of grace makes it possible for us to have full fellowship as sons & daughters of God through our new spiritual life and nature.
-
Our Power to Live is through the Spirit of God
We are empowered to live as Christ only through the power of the Holy Spirit living in us. We can be filled with the Spirit by asking God. We can live a Spirit-driven life by seeking to walk in the Spirit daily instead of the flesh.
-
We Will Spend Eternity with God
Because of the work of Christ, our faith in Him, and our perseverance through the Holy Spirit, we will spend eternity in fellowship with God. Though our physical body may die, we will experience a bodily resurrection in which we will be immortally changed.
God- There is one true God manifested in God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit
The Bible- The Bible, old and new testament, is God's revelation and road map to man, a complete and accurate standard for worship and daily life
The Glorious Life- God created the heavens, the carth, and mankind with a divine purpose and plan. All men have sinned and fell short of the great and wonderful life (glory) God had planned and can no longer obtain that life on their own
Salvation- Jesus Christ, the son of God the Father, is the promised Savior and Messiah who paid the full price for man's deliverance as a sinner and took the full punishment for man's sin. We have faith in the finished work of His death, burial, and resurrection as our salvation, providing us with eteral life and restoration of God's original plan
The Spirit Filled Life- The present day work of the Holy Spint in man drawing him to God and enabling the Christian to live an abundant life of faith, hope, love, peace, power, and perseverance in their daily walk as a believer
The Great Commandment & Commission- It is the primary responsibility of each Christian to love God with all of their heart, soul, and strength through a life of worship and obedience to God, and to love their neighbor as they themselves are loved by God, through acts of love, service, and sharing of their faith
Everlasting Life- All men that have put their faith in Christ will enjoy everlasting life in God's presence after the earthly li who do not receive the gift of salvation will live in everlasting separation from God, not enjoying the blessings and benefits of that life
